A summer's wedding in north London

At the beginning of August I was booked to work with a really lovely couple Evelyn & Ed. When I met with them for a coffee to discuss they're wedding plans came across as super laid back and very comfortable together as a couple. You couldn't help but relax in their company.

They weren't too worried about it being too matchy matchy. They wanted the bridal flowers to be more neutral and then add a bit more colour for the reception at a down to earth pub called The Depot just off of the Caledonian Road in north London. They didn't need any flowers for their ceremony as they got married at the Hampstead Heath Pergola which is outdoors and already naturally beautiful.

Ev wore an understated yet beautifully elegant ivory gown which could afford to have a generously sized wild and spriggy bouquet to accompany it. She truly looked just like she had stepped out of the pages of a bridal magazine.

I was asked to create two bun wraps and two wands for her young flower girls who were super excited about receiving them when I arrived in the morning and couldn't wait to see what they looked like. I used these craft love hearts with cream lisianthus and gypsophila flowers to perfect this cute little look.

For the reception I decorated the tables with lush foliage runners and rustic log slices topped with gin and brown apothecary bottles filled with stems of purple lisianthus, hot pink snap dragons and blue gentiana finished with silver tealights. The whole thing worked perfectly for a laid back pub wedding reception.

After the big day Ev got in touch to thank me for my work and to say that she loved the flowers I provided as well as the service they received as part of the package. You can read their full on Facebook review here.
