Floral Jems is based in East Dulwich, south east London, founded and run by me, Jem and my small team. With a bold, fun and quirky style, we provide bespoke floral design for weddings and events whilst trying to lessen our impact on the planet.

 

I started dabbling in floristry in 2013. I had been  working for a mental health charity as an Advocate which I loved but found myself constantly exhausted and wasn't able to give my best self to to my clients. I also longed to do something creative and be my own boss. One night, I had a dream that I was a florist and when I woke up thought, that sounds nice, why not give it a go! I attended a years worth of college courses and whilst my tutors said I had a natural flair for it, my technique and knowledge have developed whilst working on the job. I started doing friend's weddings and when I was made redundant from my charity position in 2016, decided to take the plunge and go full time, Floral Jems was born and I havent looked back.

I currently live in leafy Sydenham with my wife Kate, who I have been married to for 7 years and our two lovable lurchers, Alfie and Tully in our cosy flat where I also have my home studio.

Floral Jems offers professionalism, quality and vision along with a highly personal and friendly service. We strive to be ethical by sourcing seasonal, British flowers and using recycled and recyclable materials wherever possible. We also compost all leftovers and clippings and can arrange for flowers to be collected from venues where they will donated to elderly community members.

Floral Jems particularly love rustic, wild and bohemian style when it comes to designing wedding flowers but can cater for all styles and looks. We can work to budgets starting from just £1200 and we will take our time to get to know you and listen to what you want. Jem works I work alongside a small team of trusty freelance designers as well as my wife who also designs our range of table plans and other signage.
